A battle over 430 vertical metres and an unparalleled challenge


RISE&FALL - on 16th December 2017

A thrilling relay competition, with a touch of aggression, perfection, extremism as well as a healthy dose of emotion and lifestyle. An unprecedented sporting event in which teams compete in a race against the clock.

NO MERCY - these athletes are going to need plenty of staying power. The teams, consisting of four members, have four sporting disciplines to overcome. RISE: Ski touring and mountain bike & FALL: Paraglide and ski or board.

 

When the starting pistol for this incredible relay competition in the mountain of Zillertal is fired on 16th December 2017 at 13.00 hrs only one motto counts: four people, one team, no mercy! We look forward to hosting this extraordinary event for a fifth time and are sure of one thing - this will be a top class extravaganza! 

 

The mega sporting event to mark the beginning of the ski season. 60 Teams will be battling for victory in the various disciplines of ski touring, paragliding, mountain bike and ski or board.

4 People, 1 Team, 1 goal

This relay competition is a race against time and opposing  teams: each team consists of 4 athletes, all top sportsmen/women and highly motivated hobby athletes from near and far. They have one challenge in common – to conquer the 430 m in altitude in the best time possible. Be it uphill or downhill: RISE&FALL. Prize money to the tune of 10.000 Euros is up for grabs

The starting pistol for the RISE&FALL event will be fired on 16.12.2017 at 13 hrs. The starte and race finishing area is close to the base station of the Ahorn lifts.

FACTS SPORT

  • Relay competition in teams of four
  • Ski tourers will start at the finishing area - ascent via the Ahorn downhill run to Gasthof Wiesenhof – baton handover to the paraglider – flight in a pre-given corridor and as accurate as possible landing in the finishing area – baton handover to the mountain biker – ride up to the Wiesenhof – last baton handover to the skier / boarder –  race down to the finishing area
  • The winning team is the one whose skier / boarder crosses the finishing line first
  • Distances in the discipline: Ski touring 1.7 kilometres – 430 HM*, paragliding 3.2 kilometres – 430 HM*, mountain bike 4,1 kilometres – 430 HM*, Ski/Board 1.7 kilometres – 430 HM*
    *altitude difference in metres.
